Our name – Just Action Advisors – is rooted in the philosophy of Aristotle and Plato who noted “just action” can both produce and preserve happiness, and all of us in society have a role – large or small – to ensure fairness and community well-being.

In addition to Aristotle and Plato, Just Action Advisors takes inspiration from the book by Richard Rothstein and Leah Rothstein, Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law (2023). Just Action Advisors has a friendship but no formal relationship with the authors or their book. (But highly recommend you read it!)

The logo was designed with a solidus: a forward slash or stroke.  This was purposeful to indicate the forward movement of our work.

Additionally, in legal writing, the solidus is a punctuation mark used sparingly to enhance clarity.  So, its use in our logo alludes to our justice orientated work and the type of clear outcomes we provide as advisors to those looking to make “good trouble.”
